WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR MY CHILD TO BE IN SCHOOL EVERYDAY?
Frequent absences can have a negative impact on your child's academic and behavioral performance.
If your child has frequent absences, they could be ineligible for support services as well as retained. Parents need to notify the school of any student absences by calling the main office.
WHAT IS TRUANCY? HOW CAN I PREVENT MY CHILD FROM BEING TRUANT
TRUANCY: The Compulsory Attendance Law states that whoever has custody or control of any child between the ages of 7 and 17 years must send the child to public or private school on a regular basis. A child who is absent without valid cause from school for 5% or more of their days of attendance is regarded as truant.
Students absent for more than 10 2020欧洲杯足球直播比分consecutive days, and with no communication from the family, will be dropped. Dropped students must register and complete the full registration process. Your child may not be able to return to their same homeroom, school, or special program.
STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE UP ANY MISSING CLASSROOM AND/OR HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS DUE TO AN ABSENCE.
Health Guidelines for District 99 SchoolsObserve your child every day before sending him/her to school. If they show any signs or symptoms of illness, please keep them at home. The child should be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school with any of the following symptoms of a SEVERE nature:
|Fever||Nausea or Vomiting|
|Unusual pallor (paleness)||Dizziness or fainting|
|Red eyes with drainage||Swollen glands|
|Excessive coughing or runny nose||Unusual fatigue|
Notify the school if your child will be absent for ANY reason.
A note from either a parent or physician, advanced practice nurse, or physician's assistant is required for a student to be EXCUSED from physical education classes.
A note signed by a doctor is required when:
- The child is recovering from any condition requiring hospitalization or surgery. The note must specify any restrictions or accommodations required and must specify a date that the student is cleared to return.
- A child returns to school with a cast, sling or crutches. The note must include specific information about restrictions and length of time the child will need to comply with these restrictions.
- A child returns to school with a rash. The note must specify that the rash is not contagious.
- A child returning with these conditions should be seen by the nurse for an assessment and review of physician notes.
